“The Board has been tasked to deliver a major item of the government of Ghana. They have a huge responsibility of seeing to the diversification of Ghana’s tree crop economy. Ghana has been a mono crop economy with cocoa as the dominant crop. Thus, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has introduced the TCDA to break the monopoly. The Authority will operate with the tree crop module under Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ)” The Minister Issued.
The six selected tree crops namely Shea, Cashew, Mango, Oil Palm, Coconut and Rubber is expected to generate about 15 billion dollars in the next 8 -10 years.
The chairman of the board was grateful for the great honour bestowed on them by the President. He expressed his appreciation to my Ministry for their reappointment to serve Ghana and for my immense support during the previous tenure as board members. On behalf of his colleagues, he promised to work tirelessly and pursue sustainable policies to attract huge investments into the sector.
