The Chief Executive Officer of Agromonti Company Limited , Mr. Benjamin Offei, has called on young agripreneurs and agricultural students to embrace innovation, strategic branding, and inclusive support systems for smallholder farmers as the cornerstone of sustainable transformation in Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Speaking to participants of the 8th Agricultural Students’ Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue (AG-STUD) Bootcamp organized by Agrihouse Foundation ,during a student tour of Agromonti, Mr. Offei challenged the youth to become proactive problem-solvers and visionary leaders in agribusiness.
“Our agricultural landscape needs fresh ideas and bold thinkers,” he said. “Innovation is not just about technology it’s about rethinking how we engage with farmers, how we brand our solutions, and how we build systems that work for even the smallest producers.”
Mr. Offei noted that Agromonti, through its work in agro-inputs, irrigation systems, and crop production, is already demonstrating the power of innovation and strategic thinking in practice. The company’s operations are rooted in identifying the everyday challenges of farmers and developing practical, scalable solutions that improve productivity and livelihoods.
“We are not just selling products; we’re building trust,” he explained. “Strategic branding has allowed us to connect with farmers on a deeper level. They see us not just as suppliers, but as partners in their growth journey.”
He stressed that Ghana’s agricultural future hinges on a new generation of young leaders who are equipped with the tools and mindset to revolutionize the sector. He encouraged the students to think of agriculture not as a fallback, but as a dynamic field for enterprise and innovation.
“Inclusive support for smallholder farmers is not charity it’s strategy,” he emphasized. “When smallholders succeed, the entire value chain benefits. We must design policies, products, and platforms that serve them better.”he added.
