Joyful Agro Services Limited has partnered with Agrihouse Foundation for the highly anticipated 7th edition of the Gathering of the Royals. The event is scheduled to take place in Accra on March 12, 2025, under the theme: “Honouring Leadership, Inspiring Hope, and Delivering Agri-Jobs Through the Royals in AgriBooster Dignified Community-Level Network Initiative.”
In a statement, the Managing Director of Joyful Agro Services Limited, Mr. Alexander Kwaku Duah, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to advancing women’s participation in agriculture. He stated, “At Joyful Agro Services, we believe in the power of collaboration to drive meaningful change. Partnering with Agrihouse Foundation for the 7th Gathering of the Royals aligns perfectly with our mission to uplift women in agriculture by equipping them with the necessary tools, resources, and platforms to thrive.”
He further emphasized the crucial role women play in the agricultural value chain, noting that sustainable growth in the sector depends on creating opportunities that support their resilience and economic empowerment. “Through this partnership, we aim not only to contribute to the sector’s growth but also to engage in critical dialogues that will shape policies and interventions tailored towards women in agribusiness. It is more important than ever to support initiatives that help women farmers scale up their businesses and contribute meaningfully to food security and national development,” he added.
Expressing her appreciation for the partnership, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, highlighted the significance of Joyful Agro Services’ support. “We deeply appreciate Joyful Agro Services for joining us in this year’s Gathering of the Royals. Their commitment to empowering women in agriculture reflects the shared vision we uphold at Agrihouse Foundation. This partnership is a testament to the collective efforts needed to create a more inclusive and sustainable agricultural sector.”
She also underscored the impact the Gathering of the Royals has made over the past six years, stating, “The event has firmly established itself as a transformative platform that empowers Queen Mothers and women across the agricultural value chain. It has directly impacted over 3,700 individuals, including 2,300 Queen Mothers and more than 1,400 stakeholders, policymakers, and students involved in the agricultural sector.”
The initiative has fostered critical discussions on access to resources, market barriers, and the adoption of sustainable farming practices. Through partnerships with public and private sector stakeholders, it has influenced policy directions and strengthened support systems for women in agribusiness.
This year’s Gathering of the Royals will feature the Royal Panel Dialogue, led by eight distinguished Queen Mothers representing the Ashanti, Greater Accra, Upper West, Upper East, Oti, Bono, and Western Regions. Discussions will focus on empowering women in agribusiness, strengthening the role of Queen Mothers in revolutionizing farming practices, improving access to financial and technical support for women farmers, and enhancing agripreneurship opportunities in rural communities.
A key highlight of this year’s event is the introduction of the Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings Legacy Honours, an award dedicated to recognizing exceptional women who have demonstrated resilience, leadership, and impact in agriculture, governance, education, and community development. Named in honor of the former First Lady, a staunch advocate for women’s empowerment, the award will celebrate women whose unwavering efforts continue to drive positive change in their communities and regions.
As stakeholders from across the agricultural value chain convene on March 12, 2025, this initiative is set to inspire change and lay the foundation for long-term economic transformation, driven by women-led agribusinesses. The 7th Gathering of the Royals promises to be an engaging and impactful event, bringing together traditional leaders, government agencies, and private sector players to strengthen collaborations and enhance women’s participation in agribusiness.
