The Greater Accra region is set to witness for the seventh year running ,the 7th Gathering of the Royals, with participation of over One Hundred and Sixteen Queen-Mothers(116) who are into agriculture and over Three Hundred and sixty five (365) Women Farmers, Market Queen Mothers, Farm Associations, Agricultural Value Chain Actors across the sixteen Regions of Ghana.
The 7th Gathering of the Royals interventional initiative, slated for Wednesday, 12th March 2025, at the GNAT Hall , will once again, provide a dynamic platform for fostering dialogue, sharing experiences, and advancing gender equality in the agricultural sector.

This year’s event, to be held under the theme “Seeds of Change: Honouring Leadership, Inspiring Hope, and Strengthening Women to Innovatively Enhance Our Agrifood Future,” will focus on leadership, empowerment, and the critical role of women in shaping the future of agribusiness.
The discussions will explore how Queen Mothers and women in the agriculture value chain are championing agricultural growth, policy advocacy, and economic transformation within their communities.
In a press release issued by Agrihouse Foundation, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, emphasized the significance of the Gathering of the Royals as a catalyst for change.
She highlighted how the event has provided an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the leadership of women in agriculture whilst advocating for stronger policies that drive inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation in the agricultural sector.
“The half-day program will also dive deep into the Queen Mothers and detail their individual roles in spearheading agricultural growth, development, and change across their respective regions.
Also, as part of the activities for this year, we are excited to introduce, The Nana Konadu Legacy Honours and Awards, this legacy award ,named after the former 1st lady of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, is designed to celebrate and award a woman who has stood and fought positively for gender advancement in areas such as education ,agro processing ,healthcare and the well-being of helpless children and youth whiles also advocating for meaningful policy interventions and support systems that promote gender equality,” the release quoted her as saying.

this year’s 7th Gathering of the Royals will also host the 17TH Agriwoman Marketplace ,with the aim of providing valuable opportunity for women in agribusiness to showcase their products, connect with potential buyers, and expand their market reach.
Over the past six years, the Gathering of the Royals has firmly established itself as a transformative initiative, empowering Queen Mothers and women in the agriculture value chain .
The platform has facilitated and continues to facilitate meaningful discussions and collaborative efforts to address key challenges facing women in the agriculture sector, including access to resources, market barriers, and the adoption of sustainable farming practices.
Through strategic partnerships with public sector stakeholders, corporate bodies, and financial institutions, the event has influenced policy directions and initiated impactful support systems for Queen Mothers and their respective regions.
Beyond discussions and policy advocacy, the Gathering of the Royals has delivered tangible benefits to farmers and women in agribusiness. With support from private sector partners, the initiative has provided essential agricultural inputs, including starter packs, fertilizers, and garden kits, benefiting over 2,300 individuals, including women and persons with disabilities.

The initiative has also successfully encouraged the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to extend Extension Support to previously underserved farming communities, enhancing knowledge transfer and productivity.
The 7th Gathering of the Royals promises to be an impactful event filled with insightful discussions, valuable networking opportunities, and actionable strategies to influence policy, strengthen partnerships, and drive holistic growth within Ghana’s agricultural landscape.
By convening key stakeholders, the gathering will continue to be a catalyst for change, ensuring that women in agribusiness receive the recognition and support they deserve.
