In a statement released by Agrihouse Foundation, The Royal Panel Conversation, aims at further strengthening the Relationship between Queen Mothers and Agribusiness through an Agri -Booster Module” whiles seeking avenues of working together to find common solutions, that works for all.
The Royal Panel Conversation will further make room for the Queen Mothers to explore issues such as gender mainstreaming within the Agricultural sector; the provision of good roads from farms to various marketplaces, the need for irrigation and water sources on farmlands, sustainable provision of Agric inputs, interventions for easy access to stress free finance and sufficient availability of extension officers amongst others.
This year’s Conversations will have eight (8) Panelist, drawn from eight Regions. They include Nana Okom Egua ii Amosima Hemaa and Nyinfa Hemaa of the Asebu traditional council of Central Region, she is a commercial fish farming.
Madam Evelyn Andoh is the 2022 GOLD IN THE SOIL ULTIMATE AWARD winner from Western Region. She owns 108 acres of Farmland and is mainly into Plantain, Cocoa, Oil palm, Cassava, Cocoyam and Vegetable farming. The Queen mother of Nandom, Upper West Region, Pognaa Leticia Tantuo, also a Panelist, owns 14 acres farmland and is into the farming of Maize, Soyabean, Poultry and sheep. From the Volta Region, Mama Yorfomi Gliqui ii of Dzodze Apete a rice, maize and cassava farmer and processor, owning 150 acres farmland.
Other Panelists include, the Queen mother Kasuli Paani from the Northern Region, with 50 acres of farmland, producing Maize and Rice.
Nana Akua Badu from the Western Region owns 50 acres farmland, and is into Rubber, Fruits, Maize, Cassava, Cocoa and Vegetable Farming and Naa Naama Azabu Tamboo, Queen Mother of Dindani Traditional Area, North East Region owns 180 + acres of farm land, Naa Naama is also into the farming of Groundnut, Millet, Maize, and Soybeans.
The second panel discussion, The Royal Policy Dialogue, will have a representation of Agribusiness value chain actors, drawn from both the Public, Private and development Partner sectors.
The Panelist include, Mr. Kojo Akoto Boateng an Agribusiness Specialist, Mr. Dominic Donkor, Managing Partner of Agromonti Company Limited, Mr. Kwame Attrams, General Manager of Agribusiness Agricultural Development Bank and Nana Hemaa Awindor Developmental Queen Mother of Ayiga Kwabre East
However, these panelists will further delve into issues affecting the agricultural sector as well as contributing to policy directions such as assisting in structuring appropriate approaches, practices systems and innovations to sustain the agricultural value chain and growth, right from the community level to the district and uppermost level. Also creating plans on how Agribusiness, Government, Development Partners and many others can work together in boosting Agri sector.
Apart from the eighty-six (86) Queen Mothers and traditional leaders, the event is expected to draw about two hundred and fifty (250) participants and high profiled dignitaries from across sectors including development partners, government agencies, private institutions, academia, research associations and civil society organizations.
The annual event is in partnership with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, COCOSHIE, and the National Farmers and Fishermen Award Winners Association. Other Corporate sponsors includes, OCP Africa, Agromonti Company Limited and Moudlyn Limited.
