The five-day event, under the theme “5 years of Grooming, Training, and Empowerment – WHERE WE ARE NOW WITH OUR AGRIBUSINESS!” which is currently underway at the GNAT Hall in Accra, seeks to provide a platform for students to explore the various career opportunities available in the agricultural sector and equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen field.
emphasizing that agriculture has become increasingly profitable and lucrative, in recent years due to advancements in technology, changes in consumer demand, and the growing global population. As a result, there are many opportunities for young people to make a successful career in agriculture.
Hon. Yaw Frimpong-Addo also applauded and commended the Agrihouse Foundation for their continuous efforts in introducing interventional projects aimed at improving the agricultural sector in Ghana.
He also acknowledged the foundation’s commitment to nurturing young talents in the agricultural sector and providing them with the necessary skills to contribute to its growth. The Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture further encouraged the participants to take advantage of the numerous programs provided by the Agrihouse Foundation and the Agriculture Ministry to create employment opportunities for themselves and others.
Miss Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, highlighted the success of the program in the past years and noted that the bootcamp is designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing a platform for students to explore and learn the various opportunities available in the Agricultural Sector. She reiterated the foundation’s commitment to ensuring that more youth venture into the Agricultural Sector.
The Agricultural Students Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue Bootcamp is an essential initiative in nurturing young talents and providing them with the necessary skills to contribute to the growth of the sector.
The event features workshops and panel discussions on various topics, including agribusiness and value chain development, financing options for agribusiness, and mentorship and career guidance in agriculture. Participants also have the opportunity to interact with industry experts and professionals and learn from their experiences.
