Under the auspices of the Rockland Farms, Ms. Edith Wheatland has become entirely the first female to solely distribute over 700 cartons of locally dressed chicken to her subject, La Bianca, of which can be remarkably jotted on the comprehensive scorecard of the Poultry industry.
Rightly indicating the essence of patronizing locally raised birds in Ghana, the duo organized an activation for Ghanaians to have a mouth-watering taste of the local grilled chicken and share thoughts, its quality. Edith Wheatland has also been noted as a daring personality who has contributed immensely to the Sustainable Development Goals 5 of gender equality and women empowerment.
By far, she has invested and indirectly sustained the lives of young women and youth in the Ashanti Region by organizing mentorship and capacity-building programs in poultry production. The Ghanaian Entrepreneur has also been a source of inspiration as she is able to support young poultry businesses to man up their games financially.
Speaking to Agriwatch, Ms Edith Wheatland acknowledged the support of 2 scale SNV, Darko Farms amongst others who have backed her up in ensuring the partnership becomes fruitful. Touching on the support from government, the astute female entrepreneur admonished the Akuffo-Addo led administration to provide a subsidized rate with respect to the patronage of local broilers on the Ghanaian market.
The CEO of Rockland Farms is one of the very few female poultry farmers who have gone beyond all odds to sail successfully through the male dominated poultry frat.
