Speaking to Agriwatchgh news, Nana Obrikitibi II, the Chief of Bontibor, lamented over the bad road in the community. According to him, residents are finding it challenging to transport their farm produce to bigger towns to sell, and this is having a significant impact on their livelihoods.
Nana Obrikitibi II, also highlighted the issue of the death trap bridge as a major challenge. He explained that the bridge is in a terrible state, making it unsafe for residents to cross. As a result, they are unable to access bigger markets to sell their produce.
In addition, the chief emphasized the need for the government to focus on the country’s agriculture system, especially given the significant contribution of cocoa production to the country’s economy. He urged the government to provide support to farming communities like Bontibor to enable them to improve their farming practices and enhance their yields.
The residents of Bontibor are hopeful that the government will take swift action to address their challenges and alleviate their suffering. They are calling on the authorities to prioritize the repair of the road and bridge leading to their community to enable them to transport their farm produce and access bigger markets for their goods.
