Speaking at the second edition of the ‘’ IT IS POSSIBLE ‘’Monthly Agribusiness Skills and Jobs for the Youth Roadshow held in her constituency, Hon. Dr. Rawlings emphasized the importance of investing in the capacity of young Ghanaians interested in agriculture to ensure the growth and sustainability of the country’s agricultural sector.
Highlighting some challenges facing the youth, including the rising unemployment rate, she noted that conversations on how to get more young people interested in the agricultural sector have been ongoing for a while now; however, it is time for proactive and forward-thinking initiatives to be implemented to ensure the capacity building of the youth.
The Member of Parliament said, she believes that the youth have the capacity to ensure the growth and sustainability of the country. She therefore advised the beneficiaries of the ‘’It Is Possible’’ Roadshow to take the training serious, as it is an avenue to empower and create employment for themselves and others, to transform their lives and make them self-sufficient.
Ms. Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, expressed the Foundation’s commitment to investing in the Agri-youth of Ghana. She believes that this initiative will go a long way to empower the youth and promote sustainable development in the agricultural sector.
She also encouraged the youth to take advantage of this opportunity to learn the skills and knowledge necessary to transform their lives.
The ”IT IS POSSIBLE” training program has already produced success stories, with beneficiaries like Matilda Aduyaw, a single unemployed mother, learning rabbit farming and becoming self-employed with over 20 rabbits. Another beneficiary, Dickson Sevor, went from an unemployed graduate to a successful agribusiness owner, thanks to the program.
Participants at the second edition of the ”IT IS POSSIBLE” snail farming training also received snail starter packs and certificates after the training , they thanked the Minister and Agrihouse Foundation for the opportunity and knowledge they have received and pledged to use the knowledge and skills they have acquired to succeed in their snail farm business .
Hon. Dr. Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings’ Agribusiness Training Program has made a significant impact on the lives of young Ghanaians. As she has been a strong advocate for investing in the capacity of the youth.
”IT IS POSSIBLE” Monthly Agribusiness Skills and Job for the Youth Roadshow is an Initiative that offers free agribusiness training to participants with the aims of creating employment opportunities for the youth .
