The flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC),Mr. John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed his dedication to modernizing agriculture in the Oti Region by implementing enhanced services through mechanization centres. This initiative is poised to benefit various sectors, create job opportunities, elevate living standards, boost productivity, and offer convenience and comfort to citizens.
During his two-day “Building the Ghana We Want Tour,” Mr. Mahama highlighted the NDC’s commitment to investing significantly in agriculture and agro-processing once they regain political power. Speaking in Dambai, Oti Region, Mr. Mahama emphasized the establishment of agro-processing factories to improve crop yield, increase farmers’ income levels, and add value to agricultural products for export, thereby enhancing revenue generation.
Touching on the proposed 24-hour economy policy, Mr. Mahama outlined its objective of enabling businesses to operate three shifts per day. He pledged to enact new laws supporting 24/7 business operations, including amendments to labor laws and the provision of tax incentives. Additionally, he mentioned plans for favorable tax policies, stimulus packages, and financial aid targeted at specific industries such as agro-processing and manufacturing to support companies.
