Thirty-Two (32) women farmers, processors, aggregators, agric input dealers, packagers, and other value chain actors, have registered to participate in the 4th edition of the monthly ‘Agri-Woman Market Place, to be held at the Forecourt of Agrihouse Foundation offices, Dzorwulu on Friday, July 9, 2021.
The Agri-woman marketplace, an initiative of Agrihouse Foundation seeks to support women Agribusinesses recover, grow and promote their farm produce, products and services. It provides free exhibitions and marketing space for the women to sell and promote their products and services, whiles opening up their access to markets.
In a release, the Founder and Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation expressed her delight at the steady growth of the Agriwoman Marketplace.
“It is rewarding and fulfilling to see this initiative expand”, she said. “In the first month, we had 22 women Agribusinesses coming round to showcase their products and services, in the second month, it increased to 27. We were financially limited and constrained in the 3rd month, so we could only support seventeen (17) women businesses to come around and we are happy, that in the 4th month, we are able to support 32 women businesses”.
“We are truly humbled, that we are able to contribute to an agenda, which further strengthen women, scale them up, promote Agri-women products and services, whiles providing an environment for networking”, she said.
The thirty-two (32) agribusinesses who have registered for the July edition of the 1-day Exhibitions and Mentoring session include women are into vegetable production, yam and tuber farming, grains and cereals. Others are also into processing ground paste, shea butter, Moringa, neem, coconut, castor oils, whiles the rest are into food, IT, finance, communications and marketing services.
The monthly Agri-woman marketplace, which is fully sponsored by Agrihouse Foundation provides exhibition booths, tables and chairs for women to display their products and services.
Other side activities during the full day event includes Training and Mentoring sessions, wrapped with music, games and other recreational activities, intended to create a relaxing and friendly environment for the women.
It is our hope that by this platform, which we at Agrihouse Foundation, will be able to contribute steadily to creating and expanding market accessibility, whiles opening up opportunities for women.
The monthly Agri-Woman Marketplace is free for every woman into Agribusiness and we are encouraging women to register and be part.
