Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, in a press statement, said, the launch is expected to throw more highlights, on the strategies, being put in place to ensure this year’s Festival, reflects the broader scope of the poultry industry in Ghana.
The launch will equally announce strategic directions, aimed at developing policies to scale up the initiative, to strengthen its contributions to the growth of the poultry value chain.
Initiated three (3) years ago in partnership with the Ghana Poultry Project, the full day event promotes the consumption and patronage of local poultry products and creates sustainable awareness on the nutritional value of poultry products amongst Ghanaians, said Ms. Akosa.
Speaking at tomorrow’s launch event are the Hon. Deputy Minister for Livestock, Hon Alhaji Hardi Tufeiru, H.E. The Kenyan Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Eliphas Barine, and Mr. Russell Nicely, Head of the Foreign Agricultural Services at the US Embassy. The rest are, Chairman of the National Farmers and Fishermen Award Winners Association, Mr. David Korboe Davies Narh Korboe, The CEO of Boris B Group of Companies, Dr. Boris Baidoo the and the National Chairman of Ghana National Association of Poultry Farmers (GNAPF), Mr. Victor Oppong Adjei (VOA-LYS ).
Also present will be Poultry Framers, Processors, Traders, Input suppliers, equipment manufacturers, feed suppliers, educational institutions, and value chain actors, among others.
The Ghana Chicken Festival has an ultimate agenda to use decision-makers and influencers to champion the growth and acceptance, of our locally bred chicken, but within a fan-filled family day out.
