The Input Dealer Business for the winner of the AG-STUD bootcamp Ultimate Challenge, is estimated to cost, about GHC75,000.00,both technically and financially.
Now, in its 6th year, the Agricultural Students Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue Bootcamp, has grown to become a leading interventional bootcamp, enabling Agri-youths, beginner Agribusinesses and start-ups, to develop their business ideas, into bankable and profitable Agribusiness.
According to the Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Ms. Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, the partnership with Agromonti, to set-up an Input Dealer Business in any region, for the ultimate winner of the Challenge is a huge milestone and a significant boost in building a strategic career path young agribusiness professionals, straight after school. This milestone, she added will also contribute strongly to the Government’s efforts over the years, in making quality input and resources more accessible, by ensuring that, there is an Input Dealer establishment in every districts.
On his part, the Managing Director of Agromonti, Mr. Benjamin Offei said, after the Input Business is established for the Winner, Agromonti will continue to work closely with Agrihouse Foundation, to monitor and provide the needed support for the winner, to be able to further develop his market and ensure growth.
We are confident of working with Agrihouse Foundation, annually on this AG-STUD initiative and ensure, we unearth and develop, young and smart Agri-youth leaders, who will be able to manage Input Dealer Businesses across the country. By this, we are contributing to empowering the next generation of Agriprinuers, whiles contributing to the Government’s agenda of establishing Input Dealer businesses across the country, for convenience and accessibility of Farmers. About 120 students from Agric Colleges, farm institutes and universities will be camped in Accra, for a 5-day period, where they will go through practical learnings in diverse fields with mentors, trainers and coaches, drawn from different industries.
There will be a number of intensive sessions, pitches, presentations, field trips, drills and other mind-engaging activities during their stay at the camp.
Day five(5) will have the various schools presenting their group business plans, for support to kick-start it, after which they will be the Ultimate Challenge, where the winner seals the Input Dealer Business set-up. The Business will be established in the Winners Region, district or community of residence.
Participating institutions include Ejura, Wenchi, Ohawu, Fair River, Damango Animal Health, Asuanzi, Kwadaso, UDS, UCC, KNUST, UG, Catholic University, Methodist University, UNER, Adidome Agric College, Wenchi Farm Institute, Veterinary College, All Nations University, Ghana Christian, Central University, GH Media School. Other participating 2nd cycle institutions include Ngleshie Amanfro, Ashaiman Secondary School, Labone SHS, and O Reilly SHS.
The annual Agricultural Students Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue is an initiative of Agrihouse Foundation, and organized in partnership with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Human Resource Department of MOFA, the National Farmers and Fishermen Award Winners Association.
This year’s event, is sponsored by Agromonti, Dizengoff, Naanam Ventures, Cocoa Processing Company and the Food and Drugs Authority.
