In a bid to strengthen collaboration, enhance staff morale, and align regional operations with the Ghana Shippers’ Authority’s (GSA) broader objectives, the Chief Executive Officer, Professor Ransford Gyampo, has undertaken a working visit to the Western Zone headquarters in Takoradi.
The visit, which took place on Monday, February 17, 2025, allowed Prof. Gyampo to engage with staff, evaluate operational progress, and identify solutions to existing challenges. Welcomed by the Western Zonal Manager, Agnes Asamoah-Duku, and her team, the interaction set the stage for deeper institutional synergy and performance enhancement.
Addressing the staff, Prof. Gyampo emphasized that effective collaboration across all levels of the Authority is essential for achieving GSA’s mandate as a world-class regulator of the shipping and logistics sector. He highlighted that fostering teamwork and boosting employee morale would enhance productivity, improve service delivery, and position GSA as a stronger advocate for shippers’ interests.
Furthermore, he stressed the need for a unified strategic direction that aligns regional operations with GSA’s overarching objectives, particularly in protecting the interests of exporters, ensuring fair trade practices, and driving sustainable revenue generation for national development.
The Western Zone remains a crucial hub for Ghana’s export trade, given its role in facilitating international shipping through the Takoradi Port. Prof. Gyampo reaffirmed GSA’s commitment to creating an efficient shipping environment that benefits both domestic and regional trading partners who rely on the western corridor for international commerce.
His visit also underscored the value of people-centered leadership, recognizing that a motivated workforce is integral to achieving institutional success. By engaging directly with employees and prioritizing staff welfare, Prof. Gyampo demonstrated his dedication to fostering a positive work culture that supports innovation and efficiency.
Accompanying him on the visit were Director of Operations, Sylvia Asana Dauda Owu; Head of Human Resources & Administration, Boatemaa Manu-Antwi; and Head of Corporate Affairs, Bernice L. Natue. Together, they reaffirmed their collective vision to enhance GSA’s impact in the shipping industry and drive Ghana’s trade competitiveness on the global stage.
