WegVoraus, under the auspices of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has started a three-day international exhibition dubbed ‘AGRITECH WEST AFRICA 2022’ at the Accra International Conference Centre on Wednesday 23rd March, 2022.
The 3-day agriculture and Technology (AGRITECH) exhibition is intended to serve as a marketing platform for agriculture technology, agrochemicals, irrigation & systems companies, and all products related to agriculture and value addition, to connect & meet agribusiness partners & farmers food producers and processers.
Addressing participants at the inaugural ceremony, the Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Mohammed Hardi Tufeiru, said agriculture exhibitions are strategic events organized all over the world by progressive countries seeking to promote the development of agriculture and to fast track economic growth and sustainable development in sustainable basis. Therefore Ghana as an emerging economy seeking to accelerate growth and ensure sustainable development we have no choice than to adapt modern technology and best practices around the world to complement home grown solutions for transforming the economy through the agricultural sector.

According to the Minister, In the current dynamic environment we find ourselves as Ghanaians the importance of agricultural exhibitions like; AGRITECH WEST AFRICA cannot be over emphasis, giving that valuable information is central to the success of every business and therefore agricultural exhibitions must be embraced by all as an opportunity to better fortunes of businesses in the agricultural sector.
The Project Director of Agritech West Africa, Thomas James, disclosed that the exhibitions has the participation of 10 countries with 90 companies and its expected to be visited by 5,000 people including; Farmer groups, Agric businesses, Importers and distributors and as well as people looking for partnerships in the agricultural space.
Mr Thomas added that Agritech West Africa is going to be an annual event in Ghana with the main objective of introducing innovative and oriental practices and technics to the people in the agric business in Ghana and also to connect farmers and stakeholders in the sector.
