Mr. Nii Kotey, the Nkawie Cocoa Officer, emphasized the importance of good eyesight for successfully carrying out the ongoing hand pollination efforts, which are crucial for boosting cocoa yields.
Dr. Agnes Nana Baah Oppong, Principal Optometrist at the Atonsu-Agogo Government Hospital and partner of the NGO, led the medical team. She highlighted the significance of annual eye screenings for early detection and treatment of eye diseases, especially for individuals with conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, or HIV, which can impact eye health.
Mr. Benjamin Marfo, the Chief Farmer of Nwaibiagya, praised CHED and the partnering organizations for their support and encouraged fellow farmers to apply the advice and care instructions provided to safeguard their vision.
