Agrihouse Foundation on Wednesday February 26th 2025 officially launched the 7th edition of the Gathering of the Royals Interventional Initiative.
The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the GNAT Hall in Accra, under the theme:“Honouring Leadership, Inspiring Hope, and Delivering Agri-Jobs Through the Royals in AgriBooster Dignified Community-Level Network Initiative.”
Over the past six years, the Gathering of the Royals Interventional initiative has firmly established itself as a transformative platform that empowers Queen Mothers and women across the agricultural value chain.
The initiative has directly impacted more than 3,700 individuals which includes 2,300 queen mothers and over 1,400 stakeholders ,policymakers and students involved in the agriculture value chain .

It has also fostered meaningful discussions and collaborative efforts to address key issues such as access to resources, market barriers, and the adoption of sustainable farming practices.
Through strategic partnerships with public sector stakeholders, corporate bodies, and financial institutions, the initiative has influenced policy directions and facilitated impactful support systems for Queen Mothers and their respective communities.
Beyond discussions and policy advocacy, the Gathering of the Royals has delivered tangible benefits to farmers and women in agribusiness.
With support from private sector partners, the initiative has provided essential agricultural inputs including starter packs, fertilizers, and garden kits benefiting over 3,300 individuals, including women and persons with disabilities.
The interventional initiative has also enabled queen mothers in their various communities to scale-up agri-focused projects and social interventions they are championing in their various district and communities
SCALING UP
After successfully convening over 2,300 Queen Mothers across Ghana’s 16 regions and driving positive change in the agriculture sector over the past six years, the 7th edition is introducing a groundbreaking initiative called the “Royals in AgriBooster: Dignified Jobs for the Community Network Initiative.”
Under this initiative, Agrihouse Foundation will work closely with Queen Mothers to establish young female business groups, creating defined agribusiness job opportunities at the community level to boost economic growth and empowerment.
Over the next three years, Agrihouse Foundation aims to create dignified and fulfilling agribusiness jobs and opportunities across all 16 regions of Ghana through the Gathering of the Royals initiative.
By 2028, the initiative is projected to create 4,800 life-transforming and sustainable jobs for young women nationwide.
As part of the program, Queen Mothers from all 16 regions will be supported to establish youth action-led unions.
These unions will receive structured training, mentorship, financial and technical support, and resource mobilization. This initiative seeks to strengthen the agricultural value chain while ensuring that young women gain sustainable employment in agribusiness.
Speaking at the launch, the Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, emphasized the critical role of Queen Mothers as community leaders in shaping a future where young women can thrive in agriculture.
She reaffirmed Agrihouse Foundation’s commitment to implementing transformational programs that foster long-term development in the agrifood sector.
A major highlight of the event will be the Royal Panel Dialogue, led by eight Queen Mothers representing the Ashanti, Greater Accra, Upper West, Upper East, Oti, Bono, and Western Regions.
The discussions will focus on empowering women in agribusiness, strengthening the role of Queen Mothers in revolutionizing farming practices, providing financial and technical support for women farmers, and enhancing agripreneurship opportunities for women in rural communities.
The Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings Legacy Honours
A key feature of this year’s event is the introduction of the Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings Legacy Honours, an award dedicated to celebrating exceptional women who have demonstrated resilience, leadership, and impact in agriculture, governance, education, and community development.
Named in honor of the former First Lady, a staunch advocate for women’s empowerment, the award will recognize women whose relentless efforts continue to drive change in their communities and regions.
Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa highlighted the significance of this award, stating:
“This recognition serves as a lasting tribute to a woman whose vision transformed women’s empowerment in Ghana. Through this honor, we aim to spotlight women who embody resilience those who face challenges, overcome obstacles, and ultimately triumph against all odds.”
Adding his voice, Hon. John Osei Frimpong, the immediate past Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Food, Agriculture, and Cocoa Affairs and Chairman of the Planning Committee for the 7th Gathering of the Royals and the Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings Legacy Honours, called on Queen Mothers to take an active role in shaping and driving the outcomes of the initiative.
He urged them to go beyond participation and actively champion the implementation of actionable solutions, ensuring that resolutions reached at the event are diligently followed through.
Commending Agrihouse Foundation for its unwavering dedication to implementing transformational initiatives, he noted that the organization has consistently driven growth within Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Over the years, Agrihouse Foundation has spearheaded groundbreaking projects that have empowered farmers, women, and agribusinesses while addressing critical challenges in the agricultural sector.
Key initiatives include the Women in Food and Agricultural Leadership Training Forum (WOFAGRIC) & Gold in the Soil Awards, 1Household 1Garden (1H1G) Initiative, Agri-Woman Marketplace, Agricultural Student Career Guidance and Mentorship Bootcamp, Pre-Harvest Agribusiness Conference and Exhibition—Ghana’s largest market linkage event connecting farmers with buyers and input dealers, Livestock, Poultry, and Fisheries Tradeshow (LiPF), and the Agrochemical and Crop Protection Exhibition and Awards (GACA).
These interventions continue to transform Ghana’s agricultural sector, providing crucial opportunities for growth and development.
