The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Mr. Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur Esq, paid a courtesy call on the National Coordinator of the National AfCFTA Coordination Office, Dr. Fareed Arthur and the CEO of the Export-Import Bank Ghana – EXIMBank Ghana (GEXIM), Hon. Sylvester Mensah to strengthen partnerships and foster collaboration.
During the meeting, Dr. Fareed Arthur provided an in-depth overview of AfCFTA’s journey, highlighting its inception, the roles of various teams, key achievements, and challenges encountered so far. He also outlined some strategic initiatives planned for the year, aimed at enhancing the impact of the AfCFTA on Ghana’s trade landscape.
The CEO of GEPA expressed GEPA’s readiness to deepen collaboration with NCO. He recounted the several barriers to trade on the West Africa corridor and called for joint actions to facilitate trade.
The CEOs of GEPA and GEXIM emphasized the importance of working together to realize the President’s Accelerated Export Development Programme.
Other discussions centered on aligning their institutional mandates, creating synergies, and developing collaborative frameworks that would promote trade facilitation, capacity building, and export financing.
The meetings reinforced the shared commitment of all three institutions to advance Ghana’s position in the AfCFTA framework while driving economic growth and supporting Ghanaian exporters.
