The Ghana Tourism Authority has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting agritourism as a strategic means of advancing the country’s tourism sector through it partnership with Agrihouse Foundation for the second year to host the 5th Ghana Poultry Day Festival ,slated for Tuesday , July 1st ,2025 .
Speaking at the official launch of Agrihouse Foundation’s 5th Ghana Poultry Day, scheduled for July 1st at the forecourt of the State House in Accra, the Director for Product ,Development and Investment (PDI) for the Ghana Tourism Authority ,Alexander Kwame Nketia , highlighted the Authority’s continued support for initiatives that integrate agriculture with tourism.
According to him, agritourism plays a crucial role in diversifying Ghana’s economy and encouraging both local and international investments.The Authority’s endorsement and participation further validates the role of agritourism in shaping a more resilient and inclusive tourism industry, as Ghana continues to explore innovative ways to integrate agriculture, culture, and hospitality.
“In promoting agritourism, we are not only showcasing our agricultural heritage but also opening up new opportunities for rural development and sustainable economic growth,” the Director stated. “This is why the Ghana Tourism Authority is proud to support and partner with Agrihouse Foundation for the second time in hosting this impactful event.”
The partnership underscores a growing recognition of agritourism as a valuable addition to Ghana’s tourism portfolio. By blending agricultural experiences with tourism , stakeholders hope to attract diverse tourist segments while enhancing local livelihoods.
The 5th Ghana Poultry Day festival will celebrate the poultry sector’s contributions to national food security and create a unique platform for dialogue, exhibitions, and entertainment, all aimed at raising awareness and boosting public interest in locally produced poultry.
Agrihouse Foundation, the event organizers, have positioned the festival as a key initiative to promote consumption of Ghanaian poultry while connecting various players in the poultry value chain—from farmers and feed producers to policy makers and consumers.
