The major problem for yam farmers is the poor quality of seed yam, resulting in low germination on the field, less harvest and even lower quality of the yam itself.
As part of measures to help improve yam farming, Iribov Ghana is organizing a demonstration day for farmers to show the result of planting improved seed yam on farmers’ fields in Bimbila in The Northern region of Ghana.
Iribov has a technology to produce clean and healthy and virus free seed yam to solve this issue for the yam farmers in Ghana.
This technology was developed in the YIIFSWA-II project with IITA in Nigeria and CSIRCRI / CSIR-SARI in Ghana.
The demonstration day is scheduled on Thursday 2nd of March 2023 in Bimbila.
