The Chairperson of the Planning Committee for the Ghana Poultry Day Festival, Dr. Comfort Acheampong, has called on the Government of Ghana to form a strategic partnership with Agrihouse Foundation to strengthen and complement the implementation of the Feed Ghana Programme.
Speaking at the official launch of the 5th Ghana Poultry Day Festival, held in Accra, Dr. Acheampong commended Agrihouse Foundation for its unwavering commitment to promoting Ghana’s agricultural development, particularly its sustained advocacy for growth within the poultry sector.
She praised the Foundation’s consistency in using practical, community-driven platforms to raise awareness, educate, and connect stakeholders across the agribusiness value chain—making agriculture more attractive and inclusive, especially for youth and women.
“Agrihouse Foundation continues to prove its commitment to national development through agriculture. The poultry sector has not been left behind in their efforts, and we believe a deeper collaboration between the Foundation and government will help advance the objectives of the Feed Ghana Programme, especially in boosting local poultry production and consumption,” she stated.
Dr. Acheampong emphasized that the Foundation’s work in organizing events such as the Ghana Poultry Day Festival has made a significant impact by spotlighting the importance of local poultry production in job creation, improved nutrition, and economic resilience.
She noted that Agrihouse’s grassroots reach and innovative approach to agricultural development align with national food security goals and should be harnessed through stronger government support.
According to her, a strategic partnership will not only enhance the Feed Ghana Programme but will also accelerate efforts toward building a more resilient and self-sufficient poultry sector that can meet the protein needs of the population while creating thousands of sustainable jobs.
