From September 1–5, 2025, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, the Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation and National Lead for the World Food Forum (WFF) Ghana Chapter, will represent the WFF African Chapters at the Africa Food Systems Forum (AFSF) in Dakar, Senegal, where she will join global leaders to advance dialogue on youth-driven agrifood transformation.
Widely recognized for her leadership in championing youth ,persons with disability and women’s empowerment in agrifood systems, Alberta will contribute to a high-level session titled “Teranga – Host Showcase & Facts of the Day.” under the theme : The Status of Youth in Agrifood Systems a Regional Perspective: This session aims to spotlight dynamic, youth-led initiatives that are transforming local food systems through innovation, resilience, and inclusivity.
Her participation aims to amplify the voices of young agricultural leaders while strengthening international cooperation around youth-driven agrifood solutions.
She will also highlight the growing impact of WFF African Chapters in shaping the future of agriculture by promoting youth leadership, advancing agritech solutions, and scaling climate-smart practices that are improving food systems across the continent.
In addition, she will advocate for increased investment in youth-led agribusiness ventures and emphasize the need for enabling policies and sustainable financing to expand grassroots initiatives and innovations.
Speaking ahead of the summit, she described her participation as a unique opportunity to bring forward practical, youth-driven solutions that reflect African realities while showcasing the continent’s untapped potential.

I am deeply honored to represent the World Food Forum African Chapters at AFSF 2025, and I look forward to contributing to conversations that position Africa’s youth at the center of food system transformation. Together, we hope to build a food-secure, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable future for Africa.”
The Africa Food Systems Forum 2025 will be held under the high patronage of His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, President of the Republic of Senegal. The forum will align with key strategic frameworks, including the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) 2026–2035, the Kampala Declaration, and various national food systems transformation agendas.
This year’s forum, themed “Africa’s Youth: Leading Collaboration, Innovation, and Implementation of Agri-food Systems Transformation,” is expected to bring together more than 6,000 participants from across the globe. Attendees will include heads of state, policymakers, agribusiness leaders, researchers, development partners, farmers, and youth innovators. The event is widely regarded as Africa’s leading platform for shaping agricultural policy, driving investments, and promoting innovation across the food systems value chain.
