Queen Cecelia Kennedy Konlan, an influential traditional leader and agricultural trailblazer from the North East Region, has been confirmed as a featured speaker for the 8th Gathering of the Royals.

Scheduled for March 31, 2026, at the GNAT Hall in Accra, the summit will convene over 600 Queen Mothers, traditional leaders, and Market Queens from all 16 regions of Ghana. Under the evocative theme, “Seeds of Change: From Leadership to Legacy – Women Transforming the Agrifood Systems,” the event seeks to formalize the role of traditional authorities in the nation’s agricultural development.

Queen Cecelia Kennedy Konlan is widely recognized for “leading by example,” bridging the gap between royal stewardship and the practical demands of modern farming. Her focus on maize and soybean production—two of Ghana’s most critical staple and industrial crops, has made her a central figure in regional food security.

Beyond the harvest, her farming initiatives have created significant opportunities for youth and women in the North East Region, providing jobs and a blueprint for rural economic empowerment. Her work demonstrates how strategic crop selection, like protein-rich soybeans and essential maize, can strengthen local food systems and build community resilience.

As a speaker at the Agri-Royal Dialogue, Queen Cecelia will join a panel of distinguished peers to share insights on scaling agricultural productivity. Her contribution will focus on how traditional leadership can serve as a catalyst for innovation and how regional successes in the North can be replicated across the country to secure

Queen Cecelia’s hands-on experience in the North East Region brings a vital perspective to the national dialogue, the organizers stated. Her dedication to maize and soybean farming is a perfect example of how women in leadership are literally planting the seeds of change.

About the Event

The 8th Gathering of the Royals is the premier platform for Ghanaian Queen Mothers to collaborate with policymakers and industry stakeholders. With over 600 participants, the event will explore solutions to value chain challenges, climate change, and the professional representation of women in agribusiness.
