The Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. John Dumelo, has reiterated the Ministry of Food and Agriculture’s commitment to working closely with Agrihouse Foundation to strengthen Ghana’s agricultural sector, with a particular focus on women-led agribusinesses.
Delivering the Keynote message at the 7th Women in Food and Agricultural Leadership Training Forum and Gold in the Soil Awards (WOFAGRIC), Hon. Dumelo praised the Foundation for its strategic role in empowering women and advancing inclusive agricultural development.
“As a Ministry, we remain fully committed to strengthening the capacity of women in agriculture,” he stated. “Through targeted interventions under the Feed Ghana programme, we are expanding access to inputs, extension services, climate-smart technologies, and market opportunities for women-led agribusinesses.”
He further assured of the Ministry’s continued collaboration with Agrihouse Foundation. “On behalf of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, I want to assure you that our doors remain open. Whenever Agrihouse calls, we will respond and support wholeheartedly,” Hon. Dumelo said. “This is a partnership we value deeply, and we stand ready to walk with you as you continue to empower Ghana’s agri-women.”
The Deputy Minister also called for stronger cooperation between government, civil society, development partners, and the private sector to scale up support for women and youth in agriculture. He acknowledged Agrihouse Foundation’s proven track record in providing platforms that promote visibility and build capacity for women-led enterprises in the agri-food space.
