More than 1,000-day-old chicks and servings of grilled poultry birds ,which includes, chicken ,turkey, duck and guinea fowl , will be distributed free of charge to the public during the 5th Ghana Poultry Day, scheduled for Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra.
This forms part of a broader national effort to promote local poultry production, encourage domestic poultry farming, and increase the consumption of Ghanaian poultry products.
Now in its fifth year, the poultry sector interventional initiative, organized by Agrihouse Foundation has evolved into a leading platform for advocacy, awareness creation, and linkages across the poultry value chain, providing growth opportunities for farmers, agribusinesses, and stakeholders within the industry.
In a statement, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, expressed her excitement about the upcoming celebration and called on the public to participate in large numbers.
“As we mark the 5th edition of Ghana Poultry Day, Agrihouse Foundation is thrilled to once again bring together poultry lovers, farmers, agribusinesses, and the general public to celebrate the immense value and potential of Ghana’s poultry industry. We are going all out to make this year’s celebration truly memorable,” she stated.
“We’re excited to announce that free day-old chicks and grilled chicken will be distributed during the event. This initiative supports our commitment to promoting and encouraging increased consumption of locally produced poultry.

Highlighting one of the key attractions of the event, she added: “This year’s cooking competition will feature an incredible lineup of personalities from diverse sectors, each showcasing their culinary skills using Ghanaian-grown poultry.
“This year’s celebration is even more symbolic,” she emphasized, “as it coincides with the official launch of Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy.
This alignment highlights a broader national vision, one in which agriculture, particularly poultry, plays a crucial role in job creation, food security, and economic transformation.”
