The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur Esq., has embarked on a series of high-level engagements with key institutional heads as part of his familiarization tour aimed at enhancing collaboration and boosting Ghana’s export sector.
In separate strategic meetings with the CEO of Ghana Shippers’ Authority, Prof. Ransford Gyampo, and the CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Simon Madjie, discussions centered on strengthening partnerships, addressing export challenges, and leveraging global market opportunities for Ghanaian products.
During his engagement with Prof. Ransford Gyampo, the focus was on tackling logistics and transport hurdles affecting exporters, while aligning efforts with the Accelerated Export Development Program (AEDP). The discussions underscored the need for an improved trade facilitation framework to enhance Ghana’s competitiveness on the international stage.
Meanwhile, in his meeting with Mr. Simon Madjie, the GEPA CEO explored avenues to deepen collaboration between their respective institutions. Key highlights included the establishment of joint committees to resolve export bottlenecks, maximizing Ghana’s benefits under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), and promoting high-value Ghanaian exports such as yam, groundnuts, and textiles. The discussions also emphasized the importance of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and uniting agencies to position Ghana as a formidable player in the global export market.
The engagements mark a significant step towards fostering synergy among Ghana’s trade-related institutions, with the ultimate goal of driving export-led economic growth and enhancing the country’s global trade footprint.
