The Ghana-Nebraska Agribusiness Growth and Trade Relations Chamber (GNEBCham) is set to lead businesses working within the agribusiness value chain to Nebraska, USA, for the Husker Harvest Days and the third Business & Trade Activity, scheduled for September 9–16, 2025.

As one of the largest farm shows, Husker Harvest Days serves as Nebraska’s flagship event for showcasing cutting-edge farming technologies, agribusiness solutions and investment opportunities.

The Husker Harvest Days and the third Business & Trade Activity bring together farmers, agro processes, input dealers, machinery and equipment companies, academia, financial institutions and policymakers, offering a platform for business networking and knowledge exchange.

This year, the Ghana-Nebraska Agribusiness Growth and Trade Relations Chamber (GNEBCham) will embark on its third participation, aiming to further strengthen economic and business ties between Ghana and Nebraska, fostering strategic partnerships and unlocking new opportunities for collaboration in the agricultural sector.

Additionally, it seeks to close some of the business deals and relationships initiated in 2023 and 2024, respectively.

The seven-day trade facilitation event will highlight agribusiness opportunities in both regions, addressing challenges and providing tailor-made solutions through business matchmaking, negotiations, networking opportunities, innovation breakout tours and the signing of short- to long-term working agreements.

Over the past two years, through the Chamber, over 50 stakeholders, including agribusinesses, government officials, agripreneurs, women farmers, input dealers, financial companies, educational institutions and agro-processors, have actively participated in two successful trips to Husker Harvest Days.

Through the efforts of the Chamber and the Husker Harvest Days & Trade Activity platform, multiple business relationships have been established between corporate and educational institutions.

Some of the impacts include the initiation of importation deals covering poultry and livestock, input deals and the export of agro-processed products from Ghana to Nebraska.

Other initiatives, which are at an advanced stage of finalization, include exchange programs among youth in agriculture to Nebraska and a four-year undergraduate program developed with the University of Nebraska.

Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, the Co-Founder of the Ghana-Nebraska Agribusiness Growth and Trade Relations Chamber (GNEBCham), emphasized the significance of this year’s participation, stating, “This year’s trip will reinforce our commitment to scaling up trade facilitation efforts. Our goal is to ensure that members can efficiently grow their business network.”

Last year, a delegation of over 30 members from the Ghana-Nebraska Agribusiness Growth and Trade Relations Chamber (GNEBCham), comprising decision-making officials in government and diverse value chain players within the livestock, crops, irrigation, fertilizer, grains, agro-processing, education, finance, technology, input sectors, academia and financial institutions, met with their Nebraskan business counterparts to explore and discuss matching opportunities, capacities, and strengths of both parties.

This engagement helped forge relationships that will further strengthen agricultural infrastructure for the mutual benefit of the two regions.

Senator Ken Schilz, Co-Founder of the Ghana-Nebraska Agribusiness Growth and Trade Relations Chamber (GNEBCham) and former Nebraska State Senator, also expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming trade mission, stating, “The Husker Harvest Days event is a prime opportunity for Ghanaian businesses to connect with Nebraska’s thriving agribusiness sector.”

The Ghana-Nebraska Agribusiness Growth and Trade Relations Chamber (GNEBCham) is the international representative arm of selected Nebraska senators, farmers, agribusinesses and subsidiaries voluntarily working together with their Ghanaian partners to create an environment where agribusiness and trade can thrive between Ghanaians and Nebraskans and beyond.

GNEBCham aims to foster economic growth and strengthen trade ties by developing business markets among Ghanaian and Nebraskan value chain businesses.

With a growing membership base of over 100 companies, GNEBCham is focused on developing agribusiness trade ties and relationships, building bridges that further strengthen agricultural infrastructure, and driving economic growth.

The Ghana-Nebraska Agribusiness Growth and Trade Relations Chamber (GNEBCham) is excited to call on businesses, government officials, agripreneurs, women farmers, agro-processors, input dealers, financial companies, educational institutions and individuals interested in participating to reach out to the GNEBCham Secretariat or contact us via [email protected].
