FIMAN 2025 (Feira Internacional da Mandioca), the world’s largest international fair dedicated to the future of cassava and its associated industries, is set to return this November in Paranavaí, Brazil. Agrihouse Foundation is pleased to continue as the official franchise holder of FIMAN in Ghana, working in strategic partnership with Podium Alimentos to elevate Ghana’s presence within the global cassava value chain.
Although cassava possesses immense agricultural and economic potential, it has long been underutilized as a commercial commodity. However, in light of rising global food demands, the case for investing in cassava as a key crop for industrialization and export is stronger than ever. In this context, Agrihouse Foundation is spearheading efforts to position cassava as a standardized commodity, capable of driving sustainable economic growth and contributing significantly to national revenues.
According to Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, “It is imperative that we transform cassava into a standardized commodity that can be traded and exported on a large scale to boost national revenues, much like how we prioritize commodities such as gold, crude oil, and cocoa.”
As the Ghanaian representative for the International Cassava Fair, Agrihouse Foundation is dedicated to cultivating a robust cassava sector through international collaboration. This includes creating pathways for Ghanaian enterprises to connect with global investors and development partners who are eager to explore investment opportunities in the cassava value chain. These efforts aim to improve economic outcomes, stimulate job creation, and introduce advanced technologies into the sector.
Ahead of FIMAN 2025, scheduled from Tuesday, November 21st to Thursday, November 23rd, Agrihouse Foundation is mobilizing a diverse range of stakeholders, including farmers, processors, input suppliers, Farmer-Based Organizations (FBOs), aggregators, and agribusiness professionals. These participants will take part in exhibition activities, business matchmaking sessions, and networking events designed to maximize commercial opportunities and knowledge exchange.
The upcoming event will also include business-to-business meetings, panel discussions, educational tours, and farm visits, coordinated in collaboration with Podium Alimentos. These engagements are intended to facilitate the transfer of research, technology, and global best practices to Ghanaian actors within the cassava value chain.
