More than 400 actors and stakeholders from the global cashew industry, representing over 33 countries, are expected to attend the 19th African Cashew Alliance (ACA) Annual Cashew Conference and Expo in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

This is the third time Tanzania will host the significant event. scheduled for November 18-22, 2025. The conference aims to highlight the vital need for strategic investments in research, human capacity development, policy directives, innovations, technology, traceability, and food safety to drive sustainable growth within the cashew sector.

The theme for this year’s gathering, “Unlocking Cashew Investment Opportunities for Sustainable Economic Growth,” reflects an evolving perspective among industry leaders. The ACA has increasingly encouraged stakeholders to think beyond the traditional focus on producing and exporting raw cashew nuts (RCNs) and processed kernels. Instead, the emphasis is placed on building a sustainable cashew industry for the future.

Mr. Ernest Mintah, Managing Director of the ACA, emphasized the significance of the 2025 conference during  the launch in Accra, saying “the conference returns to the roots of the African cashew industry.” He pointed out that Africa’s cashew industry is now worth millions of dollars and supports countless households. “Countries like Tanzania saw great potentials in cashew many years ago and invested heavily in it.”

This year’s conference will be held in collaboration with the Tanzanian Ministry of Agriculture, the Cashew Nuts Board of Tanzania (CBT), and the Tanzania Association of Cashew Processors (TACP), with support from the European Union (EU), the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), and the GIZ/MOVE Project.

Participants can expect a robust agenda featuring a series of presentations, thematic forum discussions, workshops, and information sessions led by seasoned experts, analysts, industry players, and development partners. These sessions will address critical sustainability issues within the cashew industry. Additionally, the ACA will organize business-to-business meetings to foster and maintain partnerships, alongside an exhibition showcasing cashew products, innovations, and technologies.

Since its inception 18 years ago, the ACA Annual Cashew Conference and Expo has served as a unique forum for cashew stakeholders worldwide. It provides a crucial platform for discussing industry challenges and opportunities, strategizing for future growth, and renewing commitments to building a competitive and sustainable African cashew industry that delivers value-added products and profitability for all involved.
