About two hundred (200) Agricultural Students and Beginner Agribusinesses drawn from various Agricultural Colleges, Farm Institutes, and Universities across the country have been selected to participate in the 8th edition of the annual Agricultural Student’s Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue Bootcamp (AG-STUD Bootcamp), Slated for Monday, May 5 to Friday, May 9, 2025.
The participating schools are, Adidome Agricultural College, Asuansi Farm Institute, Damango Agricultural College, Kwadaso Agricultural College, Wenchi Agricultural College, and Ohawu Agricultural College, Fair River Agricultural Institute, Veterinary College, Bunso Cocoa College,
additional participants from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast, Methodist University, University for Development Studies (UDS), All Nations University, Ghana Christian University College, Central University, University of Agricultural and Environmental Studies, Catholic University, Ho Technical University, Valley View University, and the University of Education, among others.
In a statement issued by Agrihouse Foundation, organizers of the annual event, Executive Director, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, expressed her excitement about the upcoming 8th edition of the bootcamp.
She noted that this year’s program promises to elevate the experience further, with a comprehensive agenda designed around industry-specific activities and practical field engagements.
“Our 8th edition is set to raise the bar even higher,We have upgraded several components to ensure participants not only gain critical knowledge but also real-world experiences that will guide their career and business journeys,” she stated.
Ms. Akosa highlighted key new features of the bootcamp, including the Input Dealer Business Pitch Session, where students will present innovative agribusiness ideas for expert evaluation and potential investment opportunities.
She also emphasized the enhanced Inter-Institutional Business Presentation Challenge, designed to enable teams to pitch market-ready business models before a panel of seasoned industry leaders.
In addition to these sessions, participants will embark on guided field tours to successful agribusiness enterprises, providing them firsthand insights into agricultural value chains, entrepreneurship, and market systems.
the five-day bootcamp would also offer sessions on career planning, business development, financial literacy, and sustainable agriculture practices. Participants will benefit from one-on-one mentorship sessions with experienced industry professionals and corporate leaders.
“Through these experiences, we hope to inspire and equip participants with the practical skills and networks needed to build resilient and sustainable agribusinesses,” Ms. Akosa added.
She reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to shaping the next generation of agricultural entrepreneurs and professionals, noting that since its inception seven years ago, the AG-STUD Bootcamp has directly benefitted over 8,000 young people across the country.
