President John Dramani Mahama has declared that Ghana is open for business, as he rang the closing bell at the Nasdaq Stock Market in New York in a high-profile display of the country’s renewed investment ambitions.
The President made the declaration during his visit to the Nasdaq, where Ghana was placed in the spotlight before an international audience of investors and business leaders.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, President Mahama was featured on the Nasdaq billboard in Times Square, carrying the bold message: “Ghana Is Open for Business.”
The appearance formed part of Ghana’s broader efforts to promote the country as an attractive destination for investment, partnerships and sustainable economic growth.
The symbolic ringing of the closing bell also set the tone for the United States–Ghana Presidential Roundtable, which brought together key stakeholders to explore investment opportunities and strengthen economic ties between Ghana and the United States.
The engagement provided a platform for Ghana to present its investment ambitions to the global business community, while highlighting opportunities for partnerships across sectors.
The Nasdaq appearance comes as the government seeks to strengthen Ghana’s position in the global investment landscape and communicate its commitment to creating an environment conducive to business, innovation and long-term economic growth.
By taking Ghana’s investment message to one of the world’s most prominent financial markets, President Mahama’s engagement in New York placed the country’s economic ambitions directly before the international investment community.
