Soursop fruit locally called Aluguintugui by Ghanaians is a very nutritious fruit consumed by most people ,it contains many nutritional value , Soursop is high in vitamin c, an antioxidant known to boost immune health , strengthening the immune system , improving its ability to defend against pathogens, It also promotes the destruction of free radicals, which can help to protect your skin and cells from environmental oxidative damage.it also contains a good amount of protein ,fiber, potassium, magnesium among others.
Soursop fruit and leaves contains many other antioxidants, including phytosterols, tannins, and flavonoids. Antioxidants play a role in our overall health and help to protect against a variety of health conditions such as diabetes, heart related diseases ,bacteria infections among others.
Speaking in an interview with www.agriwatchgh news ,Dr. Abigail Agyeiwaa Asare, a Medical Doctor at Ateco Herbal clinic , stated that due to the high nutritional value of soursop fruit, the fruit can help cure diseases such cancer or prevent cancer cell from growing in the body. according to her soursop can help reduce the size of breast cancer tumors and also stop the formation of leukemia cells.
She added that due to the high Antioxidants in the fruit its helps reduce damages to cells caused by oxidative stress that may cause inflammation. The antioxidants in soursop may, therefore, help to reduce inflammation in the body .she however advised the general public to include soursop fruit in their diet.
