Day three of the 8th Agricultural Students’ Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue Bootcamp (AG-STUD Africa 2025), organized by Agrihouse Foundation, is underway with a focus on experiential learning, strategic industry engagement, and leadership dialogue. Under the theme “Voices of the Future – Shaping Agrifood Futures Together,” the day’s activities aim to amplify the role of youth in driving innovation, sustainability, and transformation across Ghana’s agrifood sector.
The day’s activities will begin with a technical tour of the Yara Ghana Limited Terminal, where students are being introduced to the operations of one of the country’s leading fertilizer companies. The session is offering participants an in-depth appreciation of fertilizer importation, storage, distribution, and the science of crop nutrition. Technical experts from Yara Ghana are also engaging the students on sustainable soil management practices and their role in improving food systems across Ghana.
Following this, the students will proceed to the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), where they will interact with senior banking professionals on topics including agribusiness financing, youth-targeted loan schemes, and the development of viable agripreneurship models. The visit is expected to equip the students with financial knowledge critical to building bankable agricultural ventures.
Another highlight of the day will be a visit to Agromonti Ghana Limited, a leading supplier of agricultural machinery and inputs. Students will explore innovative mechanization solutions, precision agriculture technologies, and the operational models that support input accessibility and distribution across farming communities in Ghana.
The day’s activities will culminate in a leadership dialogue session with Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor at the Office of the Presidency. Dr. Otokunor, the Director of the Presidential Initiative on Agriculture and Agribusines , will speak to the students on the broader policy and development issues shaping Ghana’s agricultural sector and also share his personal journey in agribusiness leadership, offering practical advice on discipline, resilience, and innovation as keys to building sustainable careers in agriculture.
