Ghana will take center stage at the International Cassava Fair (FIMAN) 2025, the world’s largest event dedicated to cassava and its related industries, scheduled for November 25–27, 2025, in Paranavaí, Brazil.
Agrihouse Foundation, the official franchise holder of FIMAN in Ghana, is partnering with Podium Alimentos once again to ensure strong Ghanaian representation at this global platform, where cassava’s role in industrialization, trade, and food security will be highlighted.
Although cassava is a staple crop with immense agricultural and economic potential, it remains underutilized as a commercial commodity in Ghana. With rising global food demands, however, experts say the time has come to prioritize cassava as a standardized, tradable export product.
“It is imperative that we transform cassava into a standardized commodity that can be traded and exported on a large scale to boost national revenues, much like we prioritize commodities such as gold, crude oil, and cocoa,” said Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation.
Adding his perspective, Mr. Mauricio Gehlen, Owner of Podium Alimentos and Creator of the International Cassava Fair (FIMAN), emphasized cassava’s global potential: “FIMAN was created to demonstrate that cassava is not just a subsistence crop but a global economic powerhouse with the potential to transform industries, economies, and livelihoods.
