The President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo has appointed the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Hon.Brian Acheampong,to the position of Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture.
This comes a month after former Agric Minister, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto resigned to focus on his political campaigns, and barely three weeks after the member of parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hon.Mavis Hawa Koomson was appointed care taker minister for the ministry.
As required by the 1992 Constitution, the President wrote to the Speaker of Parliament, informing him of the new changes in government on Tuesday, February 7, after months of call from the general public, for the President Akufo-Addo to make changes in government
The new minister designate for the ministry of food and agriculture Hon.Brain Acheampong also doubles as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs; a Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, the Appointments Committee, and the Selection Committee.
and He is also a former Minister of State at the Ministry of the Interior and the former Minister of State at the Ministry of National Security.
