The Fisheries Commission, through its Marine Fisheries Management Division (MFMD), held a quarterly stakeholder engagement with trawler fishing vessel operators on Tuesday, 27th October 2026, at the NAFAG Hall in Tema.
The engagement provided a platform to discuss key issues affecting trawl fisheries, including gear selectivity and catchability survey report, documentation required for fishing license applications, license renewal and fees, submission of catch returns, and the welfare of fisheries observers.

Participants also received updates on the Ministerial Directive on fishing gear, with discussions aimed at strengthening communication, compliance with fisheries regulations, and collaboration between the Commission and industry operators.
