The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) has reinforced Ghana’s export and trade facilitation agenda following its participation in the Ghana–China Delegation Mission led by the 24-Hour Economy Programme.
Building on President John Dramani Mahama’s visit to China last year, the mission focused on strengthening market access, trade facilitation, and commercial partnerships between Ghanaian exporters and Chinese buyers. GEPA’s engagement emphasized the importance of structured trade cooperation as a driver of industrial growth and export competitiveness.
At the MoU ceremony between the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and the China–Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council, GEPA delivered a targeted presentation to Chinese investors and enterprises highlighting Ghana’s export opportunities, priority value chains, and trade facilitation mechanisms. The presentation outlined Ghana’s non-traditional export potential, market access pathways, and institutional support available to facilitate cross-border trade.
GEPA also shared insights on Ghana’s policy environment supporting exports, including initiatives aimed at reducing trade barriers, improving logistics efficiency, and enhancing the competitiveness of Ghanaian products in international markets.
The engagements align with the objectives of the 24-Hour Economy Programme, which seeks to strengthen value-chain integration, promote export-led industrialization, and expand opportunities for Ghanaian enterprises in global markets.
GEPA’s participation underscores its role in positioning Ghana as a reliable trading partner and export gateway to West Africa. The mission marks an important step toward more structured, market-driven trade cooperation between Ghana and China, anchored in institutional collaboration and long-term commercial partnerships.
