Kenya is set to make history as it prepares to host the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) Congress for the first time in East Africa.
This milestone event, scheduled for October 14 to 18, 2025, will bring together the world’s top agricultural journalists, communicators, and industry leaders in Nairobi. The official congress venue is Boma Hotel.
Acording to the Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture secretariat, who are the hosting guild, while launching the IFAJ 2025 Congress website (https://ifaj2025.meshascience.org/) said they are ready to receive delegates from all over the world for the showpiece.
The website will serve as the primary portal for event details, registration, program updates, and a deep dive into Kenya’s thriving agricultural sector.
The congress registration fee has been set at USD700 excluding accommodation and airfare. Registration for the event opens on April 2, 2025.

“This prestigious global gathering will not only showcase Kenya’s agricultural advancements but also foster invaluable knowledge exchange among agricultural journalists and experts worldwide,” said Bozo Jenje, Chairman of the Media for Environment, Science, Health, and Agriculture (MESHA).
Agriculture remains the backbone of Kenya’s economy, contributing approximately 33% of the GDP and employing millions. The country is renowned for its high-quality tea, coffee, and horticultural produce, as well as its rapidly expanding agritech industry. The IFAJ 2025 Congress will provide delegates with firsthand experience of Kenya’s agricultural prowess through immersive field tours.
Among the key sites on the itinerary are:
- The Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) Coffee Research Institute in Ruiru, where cutting-edge coffee research is shaping the future of global coffee production.
- Nai’posha Dairy Farm, a leader in dairy technology and value chain development, showcasing advancements in sustainable milk production.
- Harcourt Farm Limited, where delegates will witness how black soldier fly (BSF) farming is revolutionizing animal feed production by offering a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional protein sources.
Nairobi, often referred to as the Green City in the Sun, is not only Kenya’s bustling capital but also a gateway to world-class scientific research and biodiversity conservation.
The city is home to Africa’s largest snake park, an awe-inspiring attraction where visitors can encounter some of the continent’s most fascinating reptiles, including the formidable black mamba and giant pythons.
