The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) is planning to realign its existing logistical and infrastructure assets to fully participate in the recently launched 24-hour economy initiative.
The policy is aimed at stimulating productivity, accelerating exports, and generating inclusive economic opportunities across key sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics, and textiles.
In an interview with the media during a tour of its facilities in Tema on Friday, July 4, 2025, the Chairman of COCOBOD, Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, stressed the need to boost the Board’s productivity.
This includes taking full advantage of the opportunities presented by the new policy.
“The 24-hour economy policy was launched, and the President’s emphasis is also on the ports. The ports is going to operate 24 hours and COCOBOD has its warehouses here, do exports here, do quality control here and so if we are to take advantage of the 24-hour economy the infrastructure and logistical that will enable us to reposition COCOBOD to take full advantage of the 24-hour economy to increase productivity, keep quality assurance and at the same time expand the base of production and create more jobs for our teeming youth”, he noted.
