The Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs, Hon. Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, has pledged the committee’s full support for Agrihouse Foundation’s initiatives.
Speaking at the 8th Gathering of the Royals held in Accra, the Wa East Member of Parliament commended the foundation for its significant impact on Ghana’s agricultural sector through various innovative programmes.
Dr. Jasaw noted that, in recognition of this contribution, the committee is open to engaging the foundation in discussions aimed at strengthening the sector. He revealed plans to invite the Agrihouse Foundation to Parliament for deliberations on its initiatives and operations, with the goal of fostering collaboration to improve Ghana’s agrifood systems.
“We must commend Agrihouse Foundation for the remarkable work they are doing in the sector,” he said.
“Going forward, the committee will invite the Agrihouse Foundation team to Parliament to deliberate on their initiatives and explore how we can work together.”

He further praised the foundation for creating a platform that brings together key stakeholders, including queen mothers and market queens, to discuss challenges and propose practical solutions within the agricultural value chain.
Dr. Jasaw expressed enthusiasm about this year’s event and lauded the recognition given to Parliament’s role in addressing issues affecting the agricultural sector.
Highlighting the importance of traditional leadership, he underscored the critical role of queen mothers as active participants in the industry. He emphasized that both queen mothers and market queens are essential to building resilient agrifood systems.
However, he urged them to take full advantage of opportunities provided by government, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to expand and strengthen their activities within the sector.
