Yara Ghana Limited, through its YaraConnect Loyalty Programme, has rewarded six outstanding agricultural input retailers in the Northern Region with three motorized tricycles and three motorcycles in recognition of their commitment to promoting Yara products and providing quality advisory services to farmers.
The award ceremony, held in Tamale, recognized retailers who have demonstrated exceptional performance in supporting farmers through the YaraConnect platform a reward-based loyalty programme designed to provide retailers with expert agronomic knowledge, product information, and incentives for selling Yara products.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Country Manager of Yara Ghana, Madam Theresa Randolph, said the company remains committed to supporting its retail partners not only through incentives but also by building their technical capacity and strengthening their businesses.

“What we do at Yara through our digital applications is to support our retailers with knowledge and build sales loyalty. We provide valuable information that enables retailers to confidently guide farmers on the right fertilizer products to use and the appropriate time to apply them,” she said.
Madam Randolph emphasized that agricultural retailers occupy a strategic position within Ghana’s agricultural value chain because they are often the first point of contact for farmers seeking advice before purchasing agricultural inputs.
“We know farmers have many questions regarding fertilizer selection, application methods, and timing. Your recommendations are therefore extremely important. That is why YaraConnect serves as an excellent platform, providing you with readily available information whenever you need it.
“Our objective is to strengthen the relationship between Yara, retailers, and farmers by ensuring that farmers receive trusted products alongside professional agronomic advice,” she explained.
She added that the initiative goes beyond supporting product sales, as Yara Ghana is also focused on helping retailers grow sustainable businesses by enhancing the value they provide to farming communities.
“Beyond supporting sales, we also want to help grow your businesses by enhancing the value you provide to farmers. Today’s awards are a token of our appreciation for your dedication and partnership,” Madam Randolph stated.
Encouraging retailers to maximize the benefits of the YaraConnect Loyalty App, she explained that the application provides easy access to comprehensive product information, recommended application rates, agronomic guidance, and reward opportunities.
She noted that the platform forms part of Yara Ghana’s broader digital transformation strategy aimed at improving engagement with last-mile retailers while promoting sustainable agricultural development.
The agro-input retail enterprises that received motorized tricycles included A.A. Zabs and K.K. Director, while Nankana Enterprise, Hadara Enterprise, Ishnaaf Enterprise, and H. Bolnaaba Enterprise were awarded motorcycles.
The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to Yara Ghana for recognizing their dedication and continued commitment to supporting their growth through capacity development initiatives and business empowerment.
One of the tricycle recipients, Mr. Abdulai Bashiru, said the YaraConnect platform has improved retailers’ understanding of crop nutrition and fertilizer application, enabling them to provide better advice to farmers while expanding their businesses.

“The YaraConnect platform has helped us to improve our knowledge about Yara products and the right fertilizer recommendations for different crops. Farmers often come to us seeking guidance before making decisions on the inputs they need, and the knowledge we receive through this platform helps us provide better support.
“This will also help improve our operations by enabling us to reach more farmers and distribute products more efficiently. We appreciate Yara Ghana for recognizing our efforts and investing in the growth of retailers,” he said.
The reward forms part of Yara Ghana’s ongoing efforts to motivate high-performing retailers and strengthen the efficiency of agricultural input distribution, particularly in Northern Ghana, where agriculture remains a major source of livelihoods.
Yara Ghana Limited continues to demonstrate its commitment to transforming agriculture through innovation, digital technology, knowledge sharing, and strong partnerships across the agricultural value chain.
Through initiatives such as the YaraConnect Loyalty App, the company is bridging the gap between manufacturers, retailers, and farmers, ensuring that smallholder farmers have access to quality crop nutrition solutions, expert advice, and sustainable farming practices that contribute to increased productivity and improved food security across Ghana.
