The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has paid GH¢2.3 billion to bondholders under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP), completing its mandatory bond payment obligations for 2026.
COCOBOD said the latest payment amounted to GH¢2,306,202,372.09, bringing the total amount paid to DDEP bondholders during the year to GH¢2.68 billion.
The Board had earlier paid GH¢376.33 million in coupon payments in March 2026.
The latest settlement follows a separate GH¢162 million payment made in July to holders of Cocoa Bills who did not participate in the DDEP.
COCOBOD said that payment fully cleared its outstanding obligations to the affected non-DDEP Cocoa Bill holders.
According to the Board, the settlements form part of efforts to strengthen the financial sustainability of Ghana’s cocoa sector under the guidance of the Ministry of Finance.
COCOBOD said the payments also demonstrate its commitment to responsible financial management and the systematic settlement of its financial obligations.
The Board said the latest settlement provides assurance to bondholders, investors and other stakeholders of its commitment to meeting its obligations.
