The Kenyan High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Eliphas Barine, has expressed his admiration for Agrihouse Foundation’s commendable efforts in promoting food security, employment, and nutrition through the Ghana Chicken Festival initiative.
Addressing audience during the launch of the third edition of the Ghana Chicken Festival, the Kenyan High commissioner emphasized the festivals objective of raising awareness about local chicken farming and entrepreneurship.
“The Ghana Chicken Festival initiative significantly contributes to the growth of the agricultural sector and the overall economy. By promoting locally grown chickens and supporting local farmers, the festival not only enhances the nutritional well-being of Ghanaians but also reduces the country’s dependence on imported food products,” he stated. 
His Excellency Eliphas Barine underscored the importance of supporting local agriculture, especially in the face of challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. He further highlighted how the Ghana Chicken Festival’s focus on local chicken farming and entrepreneurship aligns with the Kenyan government’s goal of fostering sustainable economic development in Ghana and beyond.
In emphasizing the festival’s promotion of locally grown and raised food products, the high commissioner highlighted the positive impact on improving the nutritional value for Ghanaians while simultaneously decreasing reliance on imported food products. He also stressed the festival’s significant role in generating employment opportunities for Ghanaians.
The third edition of the Ghana Chicken Festival, scheduled to take place on July 1st, 2023, at the forecourt of the State House, is a welcome development for the poultry industry in Ghana. It provides an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of local farmers, promote the consumption of local poultry products, and foster collaboration and innovation in the sector. The festival aims to address the challenges of food insecurity and unemployment in Ghana by promoting the production, consumption, and patronage of local poultry products.
