Chief Patron of the annual Gathering of the Royals event, Hon. Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings will be spearheading the impactful Call to Action session of the 8th Gathering of the Royals.
An initiative of Agrihouse Foundation which annually brings together over 600 Queen Mothers from all 16 regions, as well as policymakers, and development partners. The event remains Ghana’s premier platform for in-depth dialogue and action-oriented discussions among Queen Mothers, traditional leaders and policymakers, who are spearheading growth and development in the agricultural value chain within their respective Regions.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the GNAT Hall in Accra. This year’s edition is themed “Seeds of Change: From Leadership to Legacy – Women Transforming the Agrifood System.”
The Call to Action session of the event is a strategic segment designed to move beyond advocacy toward measurable policy and investment outcomes in the agricultural sector. It is a session of the program that seeks and ensures that discussions result in concrete impacts that strengthen livelihoods at the grassroots level and influence national agricultural discourse.
This year’s Gathering of the Royals is focused on amplifying the voices of Queen Mothers, and strengthening commitment to actions. The 2026 gathering focuses on broadening actions and interventions to reach and impact more people.

Tomato production initiative: In a decisive move to strengthen national food sovereignty, the Agrihouse Foundation through the Gathering of the Royals will serve as the launchpad for a major Tomato Production Initiative.
The intervention comes in the wake of recent tragic incidents involving Ghanaian women traders traveling to Burkina Faso, highlighting the urgent need to reduce the risks faced by traders and strengthen Ghana’s domestic production capacity and sufficiency.
Commitment to Action: Dr. Zanetor will be overseeing the distribution of Nkoko Nkititi (day-old chicks) to Queen Mothers to promote community-level poultry agribusiness in reverence to last year’s Call to Action.
This year’s 8th edition is set to break new ground by hosting two dialogue sessions including the established Agri-Royal Dialogue and the newly introduced Market Traders Dialogue.
This dual-track approach aims to create a robust value chain solutions, connecting those who oversee the land with those who dominate the marketplace.
In a historic first for the event, the Market Traders Dialogue will center on the well-being, growth, and economic contributions of women traders in the sector. This session recognizes that the journey of an agricultural product does not end at the farm gate but thrives through the resilience of market women.
The panel will feature influential Market Queen Mothers from Ghana’s most vital trade hubs, including; Malata market, Makola market, Kasoa market, Ashaiman market, and other key regional trading centers.
This dialogue will address the specific hurdles faced by traders, including post-harvest losses, market infrastructure, and the security of traders and other cross-border wholesalers.
Securing the source running alongside the market discussions, the Agri-Royal Dialogue will continue its mission of empowering traditional female leaders in agriculture and other agribusiness champions, to delve deep into finding common solutions pertaining to burning issues influencing women’s advancement in Agribusiness and in the development of sustainable farmers.
By compounding these two sessions, the Gathering ensures that the “Commitment to Action” is holistic, addressing the seed, the soil, and the stall.
