The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has praised BOST Energies Limited (BOSTenergies) for its bold repositioning in the energy sector, describing the company’s recent rebranding as a “strategic transformation” that aligns with the country’s long-term sustainable energy agenda.
During a working visit to the company’s headquarters, Mr. Jinapor commended the leadership and staff of BOSTenergies for embracing innovation and sustainability at a time when Ghana is accelerating its transition toward cleaner energy sources.
“This is not just a cosmetic change,” the Minister said. “It signals a transformation into a dynamic energy institution, poised to play a central role in both petroleum logistics and the broader energy transition.”
Mr. Jinapor emphasized the company’s critical role in ensuring energy security through efficient fuel storage and distribution, noting that a reliable petroleum supply chain remains vital to Ghana’s industrial growth and economic stability.
A major highlight of the visit was his endorsement of BOSTenergies’ newly established Green Transition and Alternative Fuels Department, which he described as “timely and visionary.”
“This department must become a hub of innovation, driving projects, partnerships, and solutions that reduce emissions, create jobs, and open new opportunities,” Mr. Jinapor said. “It aligns perfectly with the President’s vision of resetting Ghana into a diversified, sustainable energy economy.”
The Minister urged BOSTenergies to continue expanding its infrastructure footprint, including new storage depots, pipeline systems, and regional distribution networks, to address growing national fuel demand and improve cross-border supply efficiency.
He also lauded the company’s workforce for their professionalism and commitment to service, pledging government’s full support at both the policy and technical levels.
“Let us continue working together to build a strong, secure, and sustainable energy future for Ghana,” he said.
The Managing Director (MD) of BOSTenergies, Afetsi Awoonor, outlined the company’s strategic direction, which he said is anchored in national energy policies and the green transition agenda.
“Our focus is on renewable fuels, sustainable operations, and improving supply chain efficiency,” he said.
Mr. Awoonor announced that the company has begun implementing 24-hour operations to support the government’s 24-hour economy policy.
He also disclosed progress on key infrastructure projects, including the Takoradi–Kumasi pipeline and a cross-border pipeline from Bolgatanga to Po in Burkina Faso, both designed to enhance energy transport and trade within the sub-region.
BOSTenergies, formerly known as Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), has been repositioning itself as a key player in Ghana’s evolving energy landscape, balancing traditional petroleum operations with renewable and alternative fuel initiatives.
