The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, visited the communities of Atebubu and Kwame Danso to assess the state of road networks in the Bono East Region and assure residents of impending improvements.
During his visit, Hon. Asenso-Boakye highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing road infrastructure, particularly prioritizing the 100-kilometer Kwame Danso Road. This road project aims to facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce from farmhouses to town centers, ultimately supporting local farmers and economic growth.
In recognition of the hard work and dedication of farmers in the region, the Minister commended them for their vigorous farming activities. He emphasized the importance of well-maintained roads in enabling farmers to access their farms easily during the farming seasons and transport their produce to market centers for sale.
Hon. Asenso-Boakye reiterated the government’s responsibility to develop rural road networks to streamline agricultural activities nationwide.
Furthermore, the Minister emphasized that improved roads would contribute to reducing post-harvest losses by enabling farmers to efficiently transport their yields to safer storage facilities. This, in turn, would enable farmers to wait for better market prices and enhance overall agricultural productivity in the area.
Hon. Asenso-Boakye’s visit underscored the government’s commitment to rural development and its recognition of the vital role that infrastructure plays in supporting agricultural growth and the livelihoods of rural communities.
