Rwanda earned nearly $20 million from agricultural exports during the first half of May 2026, according to the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB).

Between May 4 and May 15, the country generated around $19.8 million from the export of more than 19,500 tons of agricultural products. This compares with around $17.7 million generated from more than 18,600 tons between April 6 and April 17.

Tea and diversified agricultural products remained the country’s main export revenue earners during the period under review.

From May 4 to May 8, tea exports generated nearly $2.9 million, while diversified agricultural products generated more than $4.1 million. During the following week, from May 11 to May 15, tea exports again generated nearly $2.9 million, while diversified agricultural products brought in more than $4.5 million.

Vegetable exports generated close to $934,000 over the two-week period, with major destinations including Great Britain, the Netherlands, France, Germany, China, and African countries.

Fruit exports generated more than $614,000, mainly from markets in the United Arab Emirates and across Africa.

Earlier in April, Rwanda had also recorded a strong agricultural export performance.

According to NAEB data, Rwanda’s agricultural exports continue to expand into markets in Europe, the Middle East, the United States, and across Africa.
