Minister of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to collaborating with the private sector to drive industrialization and create employment opportunities.
she made this known during a visits to the Dignity Factory and a textiles manufacturing facility, she emphasized the pivotal role of public-private partnerships in achieving these objectives.
The Trade Minister , highlighted the government’s openness to private sector collaboration as a means to foster economic growth and job creation. She noted that such partnerships are essential for the success of initiatives like the One District, One Factory (1D1F) program, which aims to establish factories in each district to add value to local resources.
The minister also addressed challenges faced by the 1D1F initiative, including shortages of raw materials and limited access to capital. To mitigate these issues, she proposed the implementation of a 24-hour economy, which would maximize productivity and enhance supply chain efficiency. “By adopting a 24-hour operational model, we can overcome supply chain challenges and boost output,” Ofosu- Adjare stated during her vetting by Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
