Agrihouse Foundation has announced Hon. Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs, as a keynote speaker for the upcoming 8th Gathering of the Royals.
The event, set for March 31, 2026, at the GNAT Hall in Accra, will provide a rare high-level platform for Dr. Jasaw to engage directly with over 600 Queen Mothers, traditional leaders, and Market Queens from all 16 regions.
The focus of his address will center on bridging the gap between legislative policy and traditional leadership to secure Ghana’s food future, during the Call to Action segment of the event. The Call to Action is designed to move beyond advocacy toward measurable policy and investment outcomes in the agricultural sector. It is a session of the program that seeks and ensures that discussions result in concrete impacts that strengthen livelihoods at the grassroots level and influence national agricultural discourse.
A Distinguished Voice in Agricultural Economics
Dr. Jasaw brings a formidable blend of academic rigor and political leadership to the event. With a PhD in Agriculture Economics, Social Policy, and Sustainable Science, his insights are rooted in years of research and teaching as a Senior Lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS).
His transition from academia to the forefront of national policy as the Member of Parliament for Wa East has allowed him to champion the transformation of Ghana’s agriculture sector into a modern, agro-industrial enterprise.

President of the Africa Food Systems Parliamentary Network (AFSPaN), leading food security discourse across the continent.
Board Chairman of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), focusing on the commercial viability of Ghanaian agricultural exports.

During the 8th Gathering of the Royals, Dr. Jasaw is expected to highlight how the “Seeds of Change” can be nurtured through stronger partnerships between policymakers and royal custodians of the land.
His participation underscores the importance of the Agri-Royal Dialogue as a mechanism for ensuring that national agricultural initiatives, such as cocoa sustainability and food system resilience are effectively implemented at the community level.
