Shanghai (TDI): Pakistan is expanding its agricultural and food exports to China and exploring new sectors with significant growth potential, as participation in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) continues to open doors for deeper trade collaboration.
In a media talk with China Economic Net, Deputy Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai Muhammad Atif said Pakistan currently exports five key product categories to China, rice, sesame seeds, seafood, fruits and vegetables, boiled beef, and dry fruits.
“Several other sectors also hold great promise, including maize and chicken feet, where trade protocols are in the final stages,” he noted.
Atif said Pakistan’s participation in the 7th CIIE includes 20 enterprises represented by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), along with several private companies exhibiting independently.
“Although TDAP’s official pavilion covers just nine square meters, the event provides a vast platform for outreach. Pakistani companies recognize its value and are making independent investments to strengthen their presence,” he explained.
Among the prominent exhibitors are Hemani Herbal and Winza, two leading Pakistani exporters that have emerged as CIIE success stories. Hemani Herbal, one of Pakistan’s largest manufacturers of natural and herbal products, exports to over 85 countries, offering more than 1,800 health and wellness items, according to CEN.
“At CIIE, companies like Hemani and Winza demonstrate how Pakistani brands can compete globally through quality, innovation, and strong branding,” Atif added. “We are confident that many more such success stories will emerge as Pakistan continues to diversify its exports and enhance agricultural cooperation with China.”
